I was just strolling around in my college campus, full of doubts and zeroes in hopes. I had wanted to do many goddamn things but low on confidence made me hesitant. I thoroughly with passing time realized it’s my inner dilemma rather than the people around me.
Then, one fine day I happen to read upon this amazing parable on Positive thinking which explained :
A grandfather is talking with his grandson and he says there are two wolves inside of us which are always at war with each other. One of them is a good wolf which represents things like kindness, bravery and love. The other is a bad wolf, which represents things like greed, hatred and fear. The grandson stops and thinks about it for a second then he looks up at his grandfather and says, “Grandfather, which one wins?”
The grandfather quietly replies, the one you feed.
This parable has literally changed my life. The way to think was changed to 360 degrees turning route.
There have been many impositions and many debates on WHAT to think. For instance, we come across a couple having a rough disagreement over some personal issue. The first and foremost biased thinking pops up in our process which is synced through years maybe the man is wrong for sure, cause look at the way he’s listening to her quietly which makes us assume that the woman is right.
Assumptions lead us to negative thinking. Assumptions are a whirlwind of past thoughts relating to our experiences. Over the years we have been thought on what to think but never on HOW to think.
Someone rightly said: Live Your Life in Peace Not Pieces.
5 Ways to Instill Positive thoughts are:
1. Listening to Positive tunes : The mind works the way it is trained. Our thoughts are our choice. The consequences are peaceful mind. We can do that by listening to Positive thoughts , Positive songs and positive tunes which may include positive meditation tunes which calm our busy thought process. It is said that people who listen to music with soft tunes have calmer day than others who do not.
2.Self-Talk: Yes, self-talk is proven best for the positive state of mind. Self-Talk is nothing but our Inner voice. Things we don’t say out loud. Self-Talk matters to an extent whether it’s positive self-talk or negative self-talk. Positive self-talk includes boosting of self-esteem and confidence. BY monitoring and changing the self-talk helps us have the positive outlook.
3.Positive Quotes and Speeches: Listening to positive speeches and quotes or reading them up can change our lives. Speeches by motivational speakers such as Zig Ziglar, Dr. Wayne W.Dyer ,Jim Rohn etc help us track our mistakes in our thought process. Positive quotes to be read up daily boosts habit of being positive and encouraged throughout the day.
4.Encouraging others to be positive: Once we are aware of how negative thoughts affect us and how we are left at a not very good spot in our own life we can encourage others to read, listen and be aware. I read somewhere be an encourager , the world has lot of critics already. We must have a kind heart and warm soul to sail through the life .
5.Lifelong Mission: It must be a constant reminder to the self of everyone to be positive now , today , tomorrow , lifelong. The need is much higher than the want to be peaceful. The variations in priorities of such busy life make us forget to keep track on our thought process, which is a must to be a mission.
